Pokémon Deck Displays

FAQ

• What kinds of Pokémon deck displays are listed?

Two families. Theme Deck Displays hold the theme decks of one set, such as the Vivid Voltage Theme Deck Display for SWSH04: Vivid Voltage or the Cosmic Eclipse Theme Deck Display. Battle deck displays hold decks of a battle line: the V Battle Deck Display [Victini V/Gardevoir V], the League Battle Deck Display [Shadow Rider/Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX] and the Mega Battle Deck Display (Mega Gengar ex/Mega Diancie ex). Each is the sealed box a shop receives.

• Which Pokémon sets have deck displays?

Theme Deck Displays are listed for Hidden Legends (2004), for SM - Ultra Prism and SM - Forbidden Light (2018), SM - Cosmic Eclipse (2019), and for Sword & Shield, SWSH02: Rebel Clash, SWSH03: Darkness Ablaze and SWSH04: Vivid Voltage (2020). Battle deck displays follow a deck line, such as V Battle Decks, rather than a set. The set name on a theme deck display is the set of every deck inside.

• What should I check before buying a deck display?

Displays named after two Pokémon, like the V Battle Deck Display [Venusaur V/Blastoise V], hold both decks, so ask the seller how many of each are inside. Then check that the display is sealed and complete, each deck in its own wrap. The front usually names the decks and the language, one of English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch or Brazilian Portuguese. For the cards of a set, see SWSH02: Rebel Clash for the Rebel Clash Theme Deck Display.

• Deck display, single deck or deck case: which one?

For one deck, buy it alone: the Pokémon theme decks and Pokémon battle decks pages list single copies, such as one Ultra Prism theme deck. A deck display is the shop box of several decks, suited to a club or a teaching group, while a Pokémon deck case is the larger factory carton. Collectors of store formats keep displays like the Sword & Shield Theme Deck Display sealed.
