FAQ
This page gathers ready-to-play lines that are neither Commander nor theme decks. It is led by the Challenger Decks, such as Mono White Aggro and Rakdos Vampires from Challenger Decks 2022, and their Pioneer versions like Izzet Phoenix. You will also find Duel Decks, two decks built to face each other (Heroes vs Monsters, Sorin vs Tibalt), and the 1996 World Championship Decks of players such as Mark Justice and George Baxter.
The span runs from the Pro Tour Collector Set of 1996 to the Pioneer Challenger Decks 2022. Challenger Decks are listed for each year from 2018 to 2022, with a Japanese edition in 2019, and Duel Decks such as Heroes vs Monsters and Sorin vs Tibalt (2013) or Elves vs Inventors (2018). The Guild Kits of Guilds of Ravnica and Ravnica Allegiance and Explorers of Ixalan are here too.
Match the full name, because titles repeat: Gruul Stompy exists both as a Challenger Deck 2022 and as a Pioneer Challenger Deck 2022, and so does Dimir Control. For Duel Decks, check if you are buying the full product or one half, like the Sorin Deck from Duel Decks: Sorin vs. Tibalt.
Most decks here are listed in English, some also in Japanese, and a few older lines in French, German, Italian and Spanish.
All three come ready to play, but for different tables. The Pioneer Challenger Decks 2021, such as Azorius Spirits, target a competitive format, Pioneer; a Commander deck is built for multiplayer games; and a starter deck is made for learning the rules.
To change a few cards in a precon, buy them one by one on the Magic cards page.
