FAQ
A prerelease case is the sealed factory carton holding several prerelease kits of one set, the way stores receive them for their events. The kit inside is named after the set: the Bloomburrow Prerelease Pack Case holds Bloomburrow Prerelease Packs, and the Murders at Karlov Manor case holds that set's kits. How many kits a case holds depends on the product, so ask if the listing does not say.
Prerelease cases run from Theros Beyond Death and Zendikar Rising in 2020, through Adventures in the Forgotten Realms, Bloomburrow and Duskmourn: House of Horror, to 2026 sets such as Reality Fracture and Star Trek.
A case holds the kits of a single set, so the set printed on the carton label is the one you will find inside.
The carton should still be factory sealed, with a label naming the set and the language. Cases of recent sets such as Final Fantasy are listed in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Japanese, Modern Horizons 3 adds Brazilian Portuguese and Simplified Chinese, and the Star Trek case is English only.
Look at the photos for crushing or water marks: a damaged carton can mean damaged kits.
One Magic prerelease kit covers one player at the event, with packs and a promo card. The case is for stores, organisers or groups who want several kits of the same set, such as Duskmourn: House of Horror, still in their carton. Other products come by the case too, such as the booster box cases.
